I bought these for a big party I was planning to throw. When I opened each pack, I immediately smelled that vinegar smell. Pooh. So I aired them on my counter all night. They still smelled, but we used them anyway. After a week of keeping it open, the smell of the vinegar is less but still there. I have to wash them before I use them again. The knives are sharp enough to cut through tougher objects. It probably wouldn't make a steak, but it worked better than expected. Triple shells melt quickly from hot objects. Be careful with hot soup and hot coffee. I cut steaming hot food to cool down for the kids, and the knife and fork warped. I like that they are biodegradable.
