Overall, for an inexpensive compass, it's probably not too bad. Feels as if it's fairly durable and has some nice features. The optics on the bottom of the compass allow for shooting a reasonably accurate bearing. However one aspect that I didn't take into consideration when I bought it was if it had a way to set the declination. I doesn't. So, as accurate as this device may be, you have to remember to add/subtract the declination value of your location from the reading, or you could find yourself pretty far off course. In general, I suppose I could recommend this compass, but would have really liked to have that adjustment.
