This compass is incredibly sturdy, with metal base and partly glass lid. The only thing I don’t like about it is the bezel ring, which is plastic, and a little flimsy. The compass does glow in the dark, and the pouch is great as well. This compass is by far the best priced and most accurate one I have owned so far. I would definitely recommend buying it.

I was in the Rangers and wanted a military grade compass but didn’t want to pay the price. For the money this is good enough considering it is primarily an emergency use compass. I don’t hike much more than a day or two at a time

Overall, for an inexpensive compass, it's probably not too bad. Feels as if it's fairly durable and has some nice features. The optics on the bottom of the compass allow for shooting a reasonably accurate bearing. However one aspect that I didn't take into consideration when I bought it was if it had a way to set the declination. I doesn't. This compass replaces an old one I had many years. I wasn't expecting it to be as well-made as it is. The case is solid, the mechanisms are solid and it works beautifully. Nice site lines and other features such as a spot level. The canvas bag it is in is also well-made and should last. Nice compass!

Feels like I can always have this by my side and know exactly where I am going lol. Will put it to use as much as I can and recommend everyone in the world to have one because you never know.

These more powerful 20X50 binocs require a bit more steadiness of hand to focus due to the magnification but are really good for detail at a distance. Great covers for oculars, right hand ocular has good focus range, center adjustment wheel works great. Not set up for a tripod which would help these powerful binocs. I purchased these as a an inexpensive gift for my grandchildren. Having spent 24 years in the Army and having to know the tools of land navy I was immensely impressed by the quality of this instrument. It's features definitely surpass those of the classic military issue lensatic compass. Very pleased.

I didnt realize that this type of compass takes a good bit of learning. I bought a book that helps understand it. My husband is helping me with it. We havent taken it into the field yet. But plan on using it this fall. seems a very good quality. Right now I am using it for general direction.

Great for the money. Don't use the lid notches for sighting, use the sighting lens! Sighting notches / lid is a little off, but the sighting lens was dead on (on mine). Other notes: Heavy and stout, not for backpacking. Won't lay flat due to bottom ring, but this is not a base plate compass. No declination adjustments, you will have to do the math.
