Review on Washable and Reusable Wet/Dry Cartridge Filter Replacement for Craftsman 9-17816 - Fits Shop Vacuum Cleaners 5 Gallon and Larger (White) by Zha Rivera

After a long period of not using it, I got my Craftsman Shop vacuum cleaner out to do a multi-day garage cleaning. The old filter fell apart, so I quickly went in search of an exact replacement (Sears/Craftsman 9-17816). None of the big local stores had it, but Revane did. I ordered it at the end of the day and it arrived the next day. I had a little trouble installing it initially as the lower mounting edge (closest to the naturally aspirated motor) was very narrow and the rubber seal did not protrude beyond the edge of the motor housing. Finger applied WD-40 coating made it slippery and the cartridge slid right on it. from a vacuum motor. I would suggest that you keep the nylon swivel nut and round flat locking cap in case the next filter (if it's a different brand or type) needs them. The replacement filter is also a wet/dry filter which is the icing on the cake for this purchase. The shop cleaner works great again.
