Review on Kryptonite KryptoFlex Bike ๐Ÿ”’ Security Cable with Looping Feature by Chris Moody

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A good cable is long enough to secure the components.

On a 60cm bike with a very high seat post, this length is long enough to mount the Vector saddle, rear wheel and pedal (left side only). I lock my bike with an Abus Bordo X-Plus (similar to a U-lock, but the U is made up of flexible segments, not a rigid U). I installed a lock around the front wheel and frame, and this short cable is just enough to restrain the bike's components somewhat. Apart from the brake and shift cables, I have no anti-theft protection in the driver's cab. As it stands now someone would have to use tools to get most of the stuff off my bike - they could get the skewers - can't think of anything else. I can put this cord in the back pocket of my jeans but I'm also 6ft 4in so IDK if that would apply to shorter people. I wear 34" waist jeans. Still looking for an easy/quick way to wear this on a bike, but for now IDK. Fits in a jersey pocket too. The zip tie with velcro is a nice touch and prevents it from getting loose comes off when rolled up in a pocket. I would like it to be smaller. I wish there were no thefts in the world. By the way, I'm sure most people already know this, but just in case, this is the one only text you'll ever read about locking a bike: The trick to getting the most out of a double loop cable is to feed it through one of its own loops, one end wrapping around a wheel, saddle or whatever always, and the other end goes through a lock, so you get double the coverage or half the cable length, as if you put the main lock through both loops of the cable HT, Michael.
