I would like to start by saying that I am hesitant to buy a computer on the internet that I have not seen and that has limited reviews. Firstly, don't just look at the stars for ratings, read the comments as well. I know one person gave this purchase an unsatisfactory rating because it wasn't the touchpad version they were hoping for. I believe the consumer has an obligation to read and know what they are buying. Unless the transparency of this ad has been altered, I believe it is clear that this is a 15" MacBook Retina for sale. What can I say, I am 100% satisfied with the purchase. The ability to add a protection plan (including random ones!) gave me confidence, and competitors in the store offer protection plans for new computers. This laptop is in pristine condition and communication with the seller is timely. First a little background: I'm a graduate student who needed a working, fast computer with little memory. I don't play, so I couldn't provide an overview of this feature. Next the item was WELL packaged in a versatile box and that sturdy air sleeve that could probably protect it from a pretty bad fall. This was one of the main issues I was concerned about simply because I know that having the term "fragile" printed on the side of the box does not guarantee your package will not be thrown. It arrived FedEx - you will need to sign for it so please make sure someone is home to take it. A receipt, some flyers, a computer, and a charger were in the box. To be completely transparent the charger extension cord is not included in this kit but the charger has been packaged in form fitting plastic just like you would buy in a store and is 100% working. The screen looks amazing and literally feels like new when you open it. There is a protective layer between the keyboard and the screen, like the new MacBook. The hinge is not worn or loose as if opened and closed for 5 years; it feels NEW. Below all the black toe tongues were in place and they were tight. I will say that there were several HAIRY, VERY SURFACE SCRATCHES. All of them are under the computer; The top and sides are cosmetically flawless. The scratches are invisible and don't bother me. literally at the hairline and about 2-3 inches long. This is something you won't even notice in the picture as they are the same color as the computer. It's hard to explain, but I had to put my computer upside down by the window (during the day, of course) to see them at all. They don't even deserve a mention for me, but I wanted to give an honest review for those who are considering buying this computer. Finally, my decision was based on a recent issue of Consumer Report magazine for laptops. Price wasn't an issue for me, so I wasn't looking for anything in a specific area; I wanted only the best and something that would suit my needs (ports, storage, etc.). So look for reliable sources and look for exact model numbers, not just brands and generic models. I'm also not a big fan of Apple, so I'm not influenced by the brand. In fact, I recently bought the latest book for Windows Surface (I think that's the name. It's removable) and overall I'm happy with it. But then again, I wasn't categorical about having a tablet or a touchscreen. I mean, you need to know where you are going with every computer you buy as a customer. I am so happy with this purchase. After searching the web for several providers, none could match this one in terms of quality, size, and storage capacity. And as I mentioned earlier, I recommend purchasing a warranty card for added peace of mind. Also, it's good to know that Revain supports this purchase. There are other third parties that are not certified. So if there is any problem, rely on their good faith to solve it, which may result in some mistake or oversight. Because of this, I chose this vendor over some others who sold this version of the computer. I hope this helps someone. If there are any changes I will come back and update this review. But honestly, if you're looking for functionality and don't fall for trends or are uncomfortable with an older Apple computer, this vendor/buy is the place to go.
