Almost identical to TreatLife at a much better price

I already had a TreatLife fan/light dimmer switch on another fan in my house. Esmlfe block and in every way it looked almost identical to the TreatLife product. As I already had the TreatLife app for not only this original fan/dimmer switch but also 8 other TreatLife switches I decided to install Esmlfe on TreatLife. App to see if it works - and it works. It lists the device as identical to my other TreatLife fan/dimmer - just a minor difference in firmware version, and one that is negative in my case though - all my TreatLife switches connect directly to SmartThings; this switch does not exist. This may be changing now - when I first installed my 8 single pole TreatLife switches they didn't connect either, but after a few months of operation they suddenly connected one day (although my fan/dimmer did right after installation ) - I think this is a Tuya Cloud thing - and which (and when) devices are added will determine their interaction with SmartThings Cloud. I mainly use it through Alexa, which it can do without SmartThings - the only tricky part is that I have to enable the TreatLife (or SmartLife) skill in Alexa, but all my other devices are already connected to Alexa through SmartThings, so they are duplicated if you add the Treatlife ability directly (so you'll need to go through and disable all those duplicates). But those aren't huge issues, especially considering the price difference. However, I hope that it will eventually be added to the cloud so that I can enable it in SmartThings and then in my Tiles panel.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Not automatic
