I don't know what to think

So as the other reviewer says, it does what it's supposed to do. At least for now. I used to have a 2500 model that worked great for a couple of years. We received many false positives after that, and although the manufacturer didn't respond to my request for help diagnosing the problem, the online seller gave us things to try and fix our problem. Then I saw an ad for this exciting new product on Dakota's website. So we gave them another chance. If you're a previous owner of the 2500 you've had features like: The ability to connect an alarm flash to the receiver. Have a vehicle count (up to 10 passes) so you know if multiple vehicles were arriving and departing. Exit delay to interrupt the call for 5 minutes. Finally, you can choose from 4 sounds by setting the DIP switches in the receiver and transmitter. NBD There may have been other functions, but these were the only ones I used. This new model has none of these features. How about 12 beautiful melodies to choose from you ask? That's right, you have 12 chimes (cute?) to choose from. How to change them on this model? However you choose to do it, the receiver and transmitter must be in close proximity to program this feature. Dig out? tighten the cord? Yes indeed. To set the beeper, the transmitter must be activated. Maybe all the DIP switches in the 2500 made it unreliable. Although it works - it wasn't well thought out.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Very expensive
