Hello everyone. So I liked this radio. 85 watts of power had me dialing in repeaters a good 100 miles away with my antenna mounted on the roof of my house about 15 feet in the air. Clarity was excellent. This caused my radio to overheat and burn out while I was running network control on the network. I had a fan on. Buyers just need to know that the radio has no internal cooling fan. Although the radio case is essentially a heat sink, it's not designed for a really long "brief" conversation. It easily overheats after about 40 minutes of continuous talking. So if you are looking for something for short to medium conversations. This is your radio but if you are a network controller or intend to use it for a long period of time I cannot recommend the radio. Another GREAT 85 watt radio, but prepare for another fan to blow it and hope for the best. Thank you and have fun. I loved mine until I died.
