This is a simple sensor to measure the suction level of your radon fan and verify that your radon protection system is working properly. I've added some caulking to the tubing that goes into the PVC pipe (but it still comes off the gauge if needed). You don't need a lot of suction power for a successful system. The mine currently uses 0.35 water column and has significantly reduced radon levels. If you are building your own radon protection system, consider some of the following items: Model RadonAway XR261 6" Radon Fan 6" x 4" Flexible PVC Sleeve for 6" Fan Mount - White 2-Pack Fernco Inc. P1056-44 4" RadonAway Fan Pipe Coupling with Shield for 4" Siren Pro Series3 PVC Radon Gas Detector - HS71512 from Family Safety Products, Inc. Included are some photos of a system I designed and installed in my home. Basement readings were falling from 4.0 to 0.3 pCi/litre.
