I prefer this shovel to plastic HANDS DOWN. I've had this style before, I think my ex is done with it, and I don't know what I've been doing with straight wedge edges for the last 8 years. Got this for my new kitten as she is in temporary isolation (felt bad for the first few days) and didn't want to get infected with our other cats. I forgot how much better they work and the longer handle saves me from having to turn my head to avoid dust and plugs. We use World's Best Litter and scoop at least once a day. If you don't scoop often and prefer your cats to strum in a corner, I can see it being less effective, but really just scoop more. Your kitty deserves it and you deserve a good hand for it.
