I was a bit wary when I got it for my birthday this year. I'm usually reluctant to buy things I haven't touched yet. But I studied this and similar products from other manufacturers, decided this was what I needed and clicked the "Proceed to Checkout" button. The monocular has proven to be better (and more profitable) than some of the binoculars I've used in the past. First, it's small enough to be carried around comfortably, but large enough to feel solid in your hand. The wrist strap is routed to the right place so it sits comfortably and doesn't get in the way. Second, the eyepiece is quite comfortable when head/face pressure is applied, and that's important. You may be surprised to learn that many similar products in this space use poor quality materials. Third, [is that even a word?], it's perfect for concerts and theater (which I do more than bird or stargazing). To be honest, when I've used binoculars in concerts and plays/musicals I've always felt a bit uncomfortable - bulky binoculars tend to draw attention and can make the user look a bit creepy. (Not to be confused with opera binoculars, of course, which are a staple of boring smart kit.) Using a monocular telescope seems less obvious and obtrusive, and allows introverts like me to avoid unwanted attention (although the couple sitting next to him sit me are season ticket holders). ). like me - insisted on borrowing them for a while.) If you go to the theater often and do not sit in the first five rows, you really need such an object to fully appreciate the theatrical value of the performance - the costumes. , kits etc. A lot of time and attention to detail goes into these things and it's a shame not to see them to their fullest value. I can see some birds from my back porch because my neighbors have bird feeders on their property. I stopped birding until I got this telescope and I still don't do that much. But it's nice to enjoy the beauty of this world once in a while. I forgot how calming bird watching can be. The telescope comes with a device that allows you to connect your smartphone to the eyepiece, allowing you to greatly increase the magnification of what you are looking at and take photos or videos. (Good luck with most binoculars!) I was pleased with how easy it was to set it up properly. This should come in handy at outdoor concerts and events where I can sit on the lawn or a hilltop and watch the action without getting too close to the noisy crowd. I'm not a fan of crowds right now, and even less so in this COVID world we live in. As it turned out, buying a telescope came at just the right time! For a telescope in this price range, it is surprisingly well made. It feels like it's going to last forever. I won't drop it to test its stability, but I'm not afraid of it either. If necessary, you can read the rest of the specifications in the product description. But the bottom line is that it's a solid device that's still light enough to be portable and easy to use, and it has a lot more uses than originally advertised. You don't have to be an ornithologist to be suitable for everyday use. People watching is just as much fun as bird watching. Take it to the mall or water park. Take it to the car races. And for goodness sake, TAKE THAT BY PLANE if you have a window seat! If you can't put it to good use, just don't try.
