I really like the tripod because I travel a lot and my regular tripod is too big to fit in my luggage. I also carry a monopod with me, as many places don't allow using a tripod without a fee, for a fee, but the monopod is fine. So the upside is that this tripod is VERY compact, strong and stable, and has a built-in monopod. The downside to the compactness is that I have to extend the tripod almost to its maximum height at 6ft 1 to get my Canon 6Dmkii up to eye level. It's not a deal breaker as it's stable even when fully extended. Extending the monopod WAS an issue though as you remove the leg, screw the ball head onto the now exposed top and voila you have a monopod a foot too short for me to use. However, here is the advice I got from experimenting (and I wish they would include it in the guide): remove the monopod leg, remove the hook at the bottom of the midshaft, loosen the ring of the midshaft. holding the ball head mount and completely remove the stem from the tripod frame. Now, using the extra connecting screw included in the kit, connect the top of the monopod to the bottom of the remote center pole and you've just added the length you need to make the monopod comfortable for us tall people! This helped me and I hope it helps you!
