Installed this pump when I was running out of time due to cheap parts my brother installed in my f150 before he sold it to me. My point is that Pump Prime is a myth. When starting after installing new parts, it was heard that the pump did not need to be primed as the motor would make a slight ticking sound for about 1 second and then disappear. However, you should wait about 5 seconds and about a minute. Repeat the process about 5 times and you should be out of breath. In my line of work I'm used to working with all types of pumps and this is no different.
