My mother taught me how to make coffee the old-fashioned way: add ground coffee to boiling water and then use a filter, attached to it is a wooden handle. Carefully pour coffee into a standing cup after the coffee begins to return a nice foam around the rim of the coffee pot. Will is now 64 years old, attractive but often lonely; Go Fig. I needed an easier way. The Coffee Gator is perfect for the two steps I take to brew a delicious cup of coffee the old-fashioned way without the mess. I use a paper filter with a stainless steel filter, it's not necessary but cleaning is a lot easier. And you grind your beans a little finer, resulting in a slightly tastier and more flavorful cup. I put 3-1/2 plastic teaspoons of freshly ground beans in the filter and then very slowly pour out the boiled water. I fill the carafe (decanter) to the 2-3/4 cup mark and fill the waiting mug. With the best Old Fashioned Coffee out there, other than My Mothers, but right now I have no direct or even indirect route to heaven. As my mother has reminded me many times. Robert, you have to do everything yourself. Gator coffee lives up to those words. A fantastic way to make a great cup of coffee. Sincerely, Tonkavich RM
