Review on Headlamp Headlight Chevrolet Corvette 2000 2004 by Joe Kokenge

Incorrect dimensions caused malfunctions in operation.

Slightly different sizes. Maybe mine is broken. Or maybe it's a tolerance stacking issue. The engine wiring didn't have the grommet like the original, but that's easy enough to fix. The wiring to the headlights was with a sleeve as in the seller's photo. The electrical connections worked well and appeared to be of good quality and a good fit. The engine and mechanics seemed to be of high quality, they fit well. The inside of the gearbox was well lubricated. Overall, this build proved to be a solid node. If it worked for me it would be a good value. After installation, the motor moved the headlight up and down normally, except for one spot when lowering where the linkage caught on the stop. Not bad, but enough to be distracting and noticeable. Upon further investigation I found that the drive arm was slightly closer to the motor mount frame when stopped in the up position on the stop compared to the marks on the stop when using the stock motor. On the way down, the linkage of the drive arm hit the edge of the stop, resulting in a slight pause and a fall. Like freezing or stuttering. Small but enough to bother me. Engine removed and compared to original. I found that the output shaft protrusion did not protrude far enough from the housing. It was 1/16 inch shorter than stock, which was enough for the drive linkage to rub against the edge of one of the stops. The non-drive side of the shaft protruded 1/16" more from the back of the case than the original. I ended up reinstalling the original motor while considering returning or swapping it out for this one.
