In the interest of full disclosure, I received this item free of charge in exchange for my review. That's not on the way, let's continue. I have a high end sports car which limits the areas I had to install. My dash and console are leather wrapped so they weren't used as mounting locations as I didn't want to install anything permanent/semi-permanent on the leather. The windshield was gone as I have a much needed radar detector. I could devote myself to this device. I found one spot where my calf is lying on a console next to a carpet that wasn't covered in leather. It was just textured plastic. The beauty of this device in terms of its rigidity, angle mounting options, and the ability to pop out the actual phone holder made it the perfect setup - for my application. I cleaned the plastic with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry before attaching the mounting base. I allowed a full 24 hours to cure as the base is set vertically rather than horizontally which means ignoring gravity rather than distributing weight and I wanted to make sure it had enough time to bond properly. The suction cup is stuck. The base is like a champ and easily withstood the full weight of the mount with the phone (Galaxy Note 9) in it. The. Does. No. Move. I would give this 6 stars if I could. A caveat would be to see how this works in the summer when heat can potentially loosen the sticky part of the base causing problems due to weight distribution. I can't get enough of this product right now!
