Doesn't work on GM with lower door spring

High quality metal tool (but) doesn't fit my lower door spring, it says it fits GM door spring, it's too wide, it doesn't reach the spring, I have unscrewed both bolts from the door and they still don't work, maybe they are made for an upper door spring but not for a 2011 gmc denali hd.
