These motion detectors work very well. The mounts offer a lot of installation flexibility, connect quickly and are very responsive. It wasn't listed, but they also provide temperature. In the Smart Things app, you can enter an offset for the temperature sensor when calibration is disabled, but you cannot change the "reset" timer. This may be available in an IDE that I haven't tested. These are Zigbee sensors that operate in the 2.4 GHz band (according to FCC ID). It's the same as many Wi-Fi devices, but I haven't noticed any glitches yet. Zigbee range is 10-200 meters, I use it at just over 10 meters but through a few walls and I have no problem. Not sure how long the battery will last, the CR2 cell is quite large, but the detectors show the battery level. I've been using Zwave motion sensors for over a year now and haven't had any battery issues and I believe they will continue to work in the same way. The light control is a test for each motion detector. I've used Monoprice's Z-wave detectors and they respond slowly, presumably to avoid false alarms, but what happens is you walk across the room before the lights come on. These smart things sensors don't have that problem, they react very quickly but don't work when cats enter the room. They are also significantly cheaper than Zwave devices. win win
