So I ordered this so I could scan receipts, business cards, personal correspondence, greeting cards, bank statements, and anything else I wanted to keep and organize as they arrived in the mail. It takes about 8 seconds to scan a letter-size page. You have to pull each paper through, but it automatically picks up and pulls back each sheet, so you don't have to press the button every time. Excellent quality of the scans, even in the photo! Worth the price. You can program it to scan to PDF or JPEG. If like me you enjoy archiving photos, this would be a great scanner to take to a relative's house to scan old photos locally. The only complaint I have is minor. If you don't align the sheet properly, it won't feed properly, but it will also create a page in your PDF with a broken side, and you won't be able to remove it until the scan is complete. The only way to remove it is to download a PDF editor on your computer, which will REMOVE the corrupted page from your document.
