An electrician came in to fix a T8 fluorescent tube ballast I had never done before and saw him do it so now I can replace it myself. But he tested the switch we often flipped when George Foreman's microwave and grill turned on, and he used a tester on outlets and funded one that was installed incorrectly in 1982. In fact, he had never seen an outlet like this when it came time to replace it. If you remember the old plug and go plugs, you know what I'm talking about. I laughed as I watched this young man finally figure out how to remove it. Anyway, I decided to test the rest of the house because it tested every outlet but 10x more expensive than this tester. In 1982 found and repaired another incorrectly installed original socket. The only thing I wished for was a GFCI button to check them out. It's also good to know you've removed the correct switch.
