I've been using this gooseneck to brew coffee for the past few weeks. It offers great spout control, and the thermometer is a useful feature (although the lid can be difficult to remove at times). However, I have used a gas stove on medium/high heat and the material doesn't seem able to handle it. First of all, the handle gets a bit warm on this setting (and on medium heat), forcing me to use an oven mitt. Second, my pen melted and stuck to the thumbtack at the top of the pen (where apparently it shouldn't be that hot, so maybe a different material is used there?). I learned my lesson and turned off the heat when using this product, but that's kind of a shame. *Edit* After speaking to BeanEnvy support they were able to send me a new kettle which I had no problems with and give them a few stars for good customer service. Despite what other reviewers have said in an oddly defensive manner, I am no idiot and did not heat the kettle over an open fire or on a burner that was too big for the kettle. Just be careful the first few times you use the kettle. If the handle feels warm, turn the heat down a bit and you should be fine. *Edit2* The company tried to sell me unrelated products through Facebook. Didn't appreciate it.
