Pulling screws too long

Great for my proposed project once I get new screws from Lowes. We installed a bench/cloakroom in our laundry room but it didn't have handles/handles for the doors so we had to reach to the floor to open the doors. We're unlikely to catch them if we get too close or sit on the bench, and I don't have to bend down nearly as much to open the doors and grab the detergent. The only problem is that the supplied screws are LONG. They are just over 1/4" longer than the cabinet doors (which are average thickness/decent quality)
