Poor workmanship and the metal isn't really stainless steel.
Poor finish, looks rough and unfinished. I thought it was similar to others I've bought before but they have a poor and rough finish. Apparently the wood wasn't polished at all. The second photo shows wear and oxidation after several months of light use and machine washing. Poor steel, not quite stainless steel.
