Easy installation on my 2008 GMC Acadia

I have a 2008 GMC Acadia SLT that needs new roof racks. When they stopped working, I knew immediately that this was going to be a big problem. I'm always picking things up and off the back of my Acadia. Suddenly, a struggle to avoid a crash began. It was difficult, but also dangerous. This tailgate is heavy and if it falls on someone they will get hurt. This had to be fixed as soon as possible. So I went on the internet and did a little research. There are other brands too. Some cost more, some less. I made my choice and ordered it. I was happy to see that the installation was easy. Removal and installation on my car was a ball, socket, and strap spring lock. I didn't have to loosen any screws. It was very easy. All I needed was a flat head screwdriver the right size to fit into the slot on each end of the strut and loosen the short wide spring clip on the strut bushing, the ball joints are on the door and frame of my SUV. . Removing the old racks wasn't difficult. Installing on a new one was exactly the same. Simply loosen the spring and slide it over the ball joints. You need someone to hold the door open while you work, or some kind of fortress so you don't get crushed by that heavy door. You'll also need paper towels, since you'll definitely need to clean up some of the grease as you go. There is a video on YouTube that I watched, it helped me a lot. Everything went smoothly and I was done in less than 10 minutes. It could have gone faster. I proceeded slowly and carefully as I had never done before. They're not as strong as our original racks before they died, but they're working great so far. As long as they last I will be a happy customer. Update: Installed October 2017. Still working great in June 2019 and hopefully for a long time to come.
