These bottle cages attach to anything that has a pole (chairs, handlebars, umbrellas, etc.). They are great for bottled or canned drinks. But they don't lend themselves so well to a coffee mug or cocktail glass. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to get this to work on my bike. However, keep in mind that this only works for me because I have longer than usual handlebars (aka "monkey hangers") that tend to have some vertical area to fit on. Also note that there is little to keep them from sliding off the post, but I have found that the riser can be mounted higher on the handlebars to prevent the holder from sliding too low.
