I put foot protection pads on my 6 wooden chairs to keep the wood from creaking on the floor. However, to potentially extend the life of the product, I first glued floor protection sheets to the bottom of the legs. The problem with them is that they keep falling. However, putting them on first made the chair legs soft on the bottom, and then I put on the Melonboat leg guards. Now the wooden leg of the chair will not damage the leg guards because they are soft on the bottom and the wood of the chair leg is not in direct contact with the boat guard. I believe this will extend the life of the Melonboat profile. The product itself was very easy to install and fit perfectly without even heating it as suggested in the instructions.
