i Bought these because Cook's Illustrated has given them their top rating twice in a row several years apart, in a later review they stated that the dots are now stamped into the metal to keep them from wearing out (as of 2012?). I ordered them in 2019 and received the ones that had the dots painted on them so that must mean they were made 7 years ago!I wasn't expecting to get the old style after so many years and was disappointed but I used them anyway and am very happy with how they work, they are easy to keep and contain enough salt and pepper that I don't use them often n my home kitchen and often cook meals for two. And the transparent material makes it easy to see when it's time to fill them up. I would buy these as gifts for anyone in need of S&P coffee grinders. But I want to be sure that the new dot style is delivered instead of the old style.
