GEVI 5-Cup vs. Keurig: Gevi wins.

First off, this little 5 cup coffee maker is the perfect size for me. I drink about five cups in the morning to keep myself energized while writing. The Keurig is comfortable, but the flavor just isn't there compared to this Gevi. Gevi is much quieter than the pod manufacturer. My Keurig was like a jet engine compared to the Gevi. Virtually silent while brewing. Only at the end does the whistle of the last moments of its brewing process sound, which alone corresponds to a quarter of the noise of the capsule manufacturer. There is no comparison in the flavor department. I've never used cheap coffee pods at Keurig, so it wasn't "cheap" for me. Gevi with the conical basket always makes great coffee for me. I've tried a few different Starbucks fried foods as well as a Dunkin Donuts fry and I liked them all. My personal favorite at the moment is Death Wish coffee. It's expensive, but it's high in caffeine. Some people don't like that there is no beep at the end of the brew cycle, but the last sound it makes serves the same purpose. At first I wanted to switch to the program until I realized that as a pensioner I don't have to get up at the same time every morning. I keep Gevi in my home office so I always have a mug on hand whenever I want. I love this little coffee maker and would recommend it to anyone looking for a 4-5 cup coffee maker. I had no issues with the carafe other than it dripping if you pour too quickly. So, simple solution, don't do it. It seems a little fragile but I have nothing to base it on other than other comments. I've run into this a few times on stock SS with no problems. It came with a permanent filter but I opted for paper filters to be used without the permanent filter. Excellent value for money and quality!
