Review on πŸŽ’ Osprey Packs Atmos Backpack Abyss: Unleash Your Adventures with Unparalleled Comfort and Durability! by Hunter Schneider

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Easy in space - I really had to slide stuff in there.

Expected more for the money. Putting a full water bag in the main compartment reduces the volume for other things. The straps of the sleeping bag are a bit short and the separately available waterproof cover does not cover the sleeping pad when it rains. I had to carry my bedside tablecloth by hand in the rain as the straps are hidden by the cover. I think it's ok if the sleeping bag gets wet (sarcasm). Also, with a rain cover it's difficult to put on a backpack as you have to put your hands through the straps but not hang in a waterproof bag. If you are alone this can be a problem. In addition, it can be difficult to open the side belt compartments when the rain cover is on. I just stopped using the waist belt when it rained. Personally I would recommend a poncho covering the entire installation if rain is expected. You will feel more comfortable and all your belongings will stay dry. On a positive note, this backpack was very comfortable to wear when dry and my shoulders never hurt during the day. It was easy to control comfort by alternately tightening and loosening the hip belt, putting more or less stress on the hips.

Pros
  • Stretch mesh front pocket for quick storage of a raincoat or extra layers of clothing
Cons
  • Slightly torn
