I'm afraid this whole system is garbage. Manufacturing tolerances or design, I'm not sure what, but the end result is poorly made. Things don't connect securely, especially the top of the outbuilding. I had to modify ours with heavy duty rubber bands to keep them closed. The wheel is also unbalanced, with lots of slits for poop and pee to fall onto anything below your cage. The small clip that is supposed to catch such delicacies hardly stays in, it is too small and still doesn't let anything through. The running wheel, which our hamster loves more than the main cage, is smaller but noisier and more difficult to clean. When you finally attach this to the side extension tubes it will be a very heavy mess that you will need to attach to the side of the cage somehow to keep it from falling off. Finally, once you have an outhouse, you may find that your hamster has nowhere else to sleep. He loves the little room in the sky very much, but resents it greatly that it comes with overhead cleaning and chronic worries about stability and escape.
