Review on Bialetti Venus Espresso Stainless Insulated by David Lambert

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An old fashioned gem of Italy!

(After a year of use, see photo. Not bad!) So this was my first brew coffee maker and it's by far the best in terms of value for money; cheaper than any overpriced espresso machine. It's elegant, vintage, and best of all. It's STAINLESS STEEL for those trying not to buy aluminum based products! I've had it for almost a year now (10 months). FULL REVIEW To keep it in good condition, always choose hand wash; NEVER use soap. During brewing, light a flame that only covers the entire bottom of the base, never more or less (usually a little less than high, between high and medium), this will result in the coffee not burning (rapid eager brewing) or brews. "Too slow. A flame between these settings ensures that only the base is burning and not an inch or two higher, avoiding possible corrosion. Use "fine" ground coffee. An "extra fine" grind is better suited to espresso machines and the water then doesn't flow well through that machine and the cup gets a lot less concentrated it was still able to brew coffee but it normally produced half of what it was supposed to which resulted in that you had to unscrew the base and pour water back up, then just take the coffee from that round (more would be too watery).. I haven't tried the "coarse" grind commonly used in a french press , but I bet the end result will be much better than the "very fine" grind. produces far fewer ounces than an American 6 cup might look, so small china mugs are used. 1 cup e equals approximately 5 ounces. Since I usually get the best out of the shaft, I don't fill water up to the internal screw in the base, but rather a little higher. But if you do this, make sure you have a bowl to pour out the extra chunk as it starts to fill, lest it overflow the inner tube the water is coming from; This causes the brewed coffee to flow back into the water tank (base) you originally filled and you lose that extra coffee. When the coffee is ready (ready), you will hear it drying up, as if someone is making a snoring sound with their mouth open; Turn off the heat immediately, pour and serve. Then pour cold water over and around the base where the coffee was dispensed to cool it down (I usually wear an oven mitt since it's hot). This water cooling avoids stubborn coffee stains inside the machine. Now you can also safely unscrew the base, pour out the used coffee grounds and prepare for the next round or prepare to dry. When drying, I use a towel to dry my hands, particularly inside the case and around the internal metering tube. You can also use a dryer and leave all three pieces on, but I would advise drying the top (case) completely inside and out. Some of my methods may or may not be orthodox, but they have made my car durable and, in turn, made the most of it. Last but not least, use GOOD COFFEE, I prefer Haitian. I just tried the Christmas Roast because I got it as a gift and it was TERRIBLE; back to my way. For your health!
