Review on 🔝 Marina Power Filtration System by Lisa Wilson

This is a good sized filter for standard 10 gallon aqueons/general aquarium. My tank is split down the middle and I originally wanted to buy the S15 just to make sure it had the right filtration for 2 fish, but in the end I decided to save some space and go with the S10. It comes with a filter cartridge, carbon and bio independent. Although I don't use them, I'm not a fan of cartridges at all. I fill the slit where the water enters the filter (inlet section) with Aquaclear Foam sponges, which I cut to size to fill that area nicely, then I fill the next two halves with polyester fiber/filter thread, then the top halves of these sponges. Aquaclear Biomax ball slots. I don't need chemical filtration in my aquariums, but if I did I would just add the carbon cartridge that comes with the kit. It seems to work pretty well, even though the inlet pipe is very close to the outlet flow. So when the pipe touches the outlet, it will buzz a little louder. Also, I have roosterfish in the tank, so even with the lowest fluctuation, I still felt like my tail was pushing too hard when it was near low tide. So I just used a plastic strip from a water bottle and attached it with a rubber band as a baffle to reduce the flow. Works pretty well. Overall I'm happy with it and it's very easy to customize your favorite media. This is my first HOB filter and I love it for the price.
