Decided to order New Balance "Wide” for my 21 month old daughter who wears SMO due to low muscle tone. Her previous tsukihoshi shoes, while initially fine, began to rub/crush in the big toe area, resulting in a persistent red, blister-like mark that would eventually bleed. There just wasn't enough room to accommodate the SMO very well. Not only do these New Balance shoes look great, but they're almost half the price of the Tsukihoshi shoes we bought; They are also VERY roomy in the toe box - no more red spots for us! The flexibility of the laces is also great.
