Review on SAUTVS Extension Commander 2011 2020 Accessories by Darrion Hudson

I love my fender flares!

This review is about extended fender flares from SAUTVS. I have Commander Max 2019. Buying them was risky because I couldn't find any written reviews of them. However, I saw some positive reviews for other SAUTVS products, so I ordered them. The first unpacking was positive, they were well packed and I liked the composition of the torches. The price was very competitive compared to other torches but I liked the look and the fact that they were wider than most. Dirt was definitely an issue as my commander didn't have factory flares and I needed some sort of protection. I did the installation myself with the help of my wife as there were some spots where my hand didn't fit at all and she could reach those spots. And she calmed me down when I started throwing keys and swearing. :-) The installation instructions weren't great, but together with the online video on the Revain website, I was able to figure everything out. Please note that I have very little experience with my UTV and am a novice at best when it comes to this type of work. It's not too heavy but I think I have some great installation tips if you decide to buy a set of these. The first thing I want to tell you is to start on the passenger side. I found the passenger side was a breeze after removing the glove box compared to the driver's side. And I also understand that a lot of the difficulties for me are due to the fact that I'm 75 and I wasn't really flexible at 25, so some necessary inputs were difficult. If you start on the passenger side you definitely have a LOT more room and then by the time you get to the driver's side you at least have a really good idea before you start and know where those hidden screws and plugs are. The second thing I want to tell you is to make sure you get a template with written instructions. (I had to get instructions from the seller, Zuparts, as they weren't official for Revain yet). or you will be far away. I learned this the hard way. When removing the back panel behind the front fender pay close attention to how it is bolted down below and put it back that way and DO NOT THROW. Experienced mechanics will have no trouble, but if you're beyond my level of knowledge BEWARE. It's not difficult, just tedious at times. Also, you will notice in the video that the installation order differs from the written instructions. I went with the order shown in the video. In addition, the video shows all pre-drilled holes, as on the XT and Limited models. Mine didn't have pre-drilled holes, but you can figure this out by taking your time and using the bells as a template. The videos and instructions are not the maximum for the regular commander, but the rear is very similar. Installation. You just have to find out as you go. Do yourself a favor and have a few extra push pins and lock washers handy when installing. If installing on a Max, remove the rear seats for easier access. Use the regular commander instructions and there are enough similarities, you will be successful. Last but not least, I would advise you to be safe and not over tighten the screws when installing. The instructions said nothing about it, except that it almost looks like a finger puff in the video. I would say they barely fit. I mean the screws that are used to install the torches, not the existing screws that are reused. Overall I am very happy with the look and function of this product and would highly recommend both the product and the Zuparts seller.
