I bought this for my RV but used it in my room to try it out first. I doubted it would work in Vermont where humidity can be quite high. Okay, let's start with an aversion to light. Regardless, this device is lit by the red light where the USB cable is plugged in and the buttons you press on top. I wish there was an option to turn off all the lights. If I wanted to turn on the light, I would use two lighting options. The high setting for the fan is pretty loud for me too, but it ends up being just white noise. Is working? I haven't had an overnight air conditioner since I bought it. I turn it on before bed, either on low or medium, kick the water and go to sleep. When I throw the blanket off I usually have to put it back on because of the cool breeze from this little guy. I have it on my body instead of my face so I can feel the wind better and because I hate having things blow in my face. The hottest thing has been the mid 80's since I bought it, so we'll see how it fares when it gets into the 90's. Humidity was pretty high, so it rains every other day, but this tiny swamp cooler (as we call such a device in the Southwest) still works. It's confusing to me, but if I can use this instead of AC I will use it. I have a feeling this one will travel between my bedroom and my van instead of staying in my van.
