Review on Efficient Diamond Drilling for Porcelain with DrilaxTM Bathroom Tool by John Patterson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great value for money but I didn't fully pierce my 1 " quartz

Used today with 2" and 1 3/4 to drill 1" quartz. To drill the holes I used an old heavy duty Milwaukee drill that predates me. I outfitted it with drill bit alignment tools that you can see in fig. I put putty on the base to prevent scratches and as a water seal. It can be difficult to find the exact spot to drill, but in my case it doesn't matter. I just fixed the drill in the corner. He might slip for a second or two, but he bites well, then it's all right. Rinse repeatedly with water and drops of washing-up liquid, otherwise the drill may jam and rotate the drill. The beats went really well, but I didn't use them twice. My quartz is 1 inch thick and the bit is 1 1/8 inch cut but it bottomed out before I broke through. So I tapped the hole with a small ball-tipped hammer and it popped out. It will take an odd shape at the bottom of the countertop, so be careful when it's open. In my case nobody will see it. I got a set of 6 for the price of a bit at Home Depot. I am happy!

Pros
  • . EXCELLENT RESULTS in quartz, granite, ceramic and porcelain tiles, glass, marble, slate and many types of stone. No pilot drill required, use guide to insert.
Cons
  • Drill Pack
