    Use a stencil if possible, keep it wet, take your time.

    I was pleasantly surprised at their longevity! They look delicate as they look thin in the diamond shell, and not chipped , as could crowns on concrete. However, I cut 4 holes with the same bit through thick stoneware and 1/2" backing with no problems and no sign of wear on the bit. Made a template out of a 1x6 piece using the pre-drilled with a wood drill bit, attached it to the bathdeck, used a standard household spray gun to keep the hole wet and the drill bit cool as he drilled each hole…

    Great value for money but I didn't fully pierce my 1 " quartz

    Used today with 2" and 1 3/4 to drill 1" quartz. To drill the holes I used an old heavy duty Milwaukee drill that predates me. I outfitted it with drill bit alignment tools that you can see in fig. I put putty on the base to prevent scratches and as a water seal. It can be difficult to find the exact spot to drill, but in my case it doesn't matter. I just fixed the drill in the corner. He might slip for a second or two, but he bites well, then it's all right.     You get what you pay for

    First, for the price the bits were good. I got several sizes of diamond drill bits for less than $40 and they worked great for the first two holes in 3cm granite. 2 holes in each was their maximum, and this was done while constantly drilling into water at slow speed for about 30-45 seconds, vacuuming the hole (both water and particulates), then watering again and repeating to the end. The 2" bit held up better than the 1/4" bit in granite, but neither of them would be used for the third hole…
