I bought this dehydrator about two weeks ago. However, when I tried to dehydrate the bananas, I found that the heating element was not working after 10 hours. I investigated it further and found that the device does not develop any heat even on the highest settings. After contacting the company they sent me a new pad to replace the next day with the pad Revain sent me. The new device they sent me exceeds my expectations for a dehydrator that folds down to a third of its working size. I have since used the banana and pepper dryer on vacation and it works very well. It's great that you don't have to compromise on quality with this compact dehydrator. I am very sorry that I did not order this from the manufacturer and not from Revain for a number of reasons: 1. When I bought it there was a deal where you get silicone mats if you buy the stainless steel version of the dehydrator. They are useful for small pieces of vegetables and sticky fruits. 2. Brod & Taylor has much better customer service than Revain. If you want to make your own condiments, healthy snacks, or just want to preserve fruit that would otherwise spoil, I recommend this dehydrator. If you are not limited in time and do not need next day delivery, check out their website. You're more likely to get additional benefits with your purchase, and believe me, you'd definitely rather deal with customer support than Revain.
