Fits easily in my 1980 Jeep CJ7. I did this as part of a dashboard update. I didn't open the dashboard. I just squeezed/pushed it through the hole on the left side first. Then, once the box was behind the dash, I moved it forward and under the box's opening edge. The screws were installed through the glove box frame into the plastic. Do not overtighten the screws or you will tear them off. Self-tapping screws can be replaced with bolts and nuts if necessary. It's smaller than the ugly cardboard original, but not in a way that's a problem for me.
