Review on πŸ”Œ Dorman 41040 Miscellaneous Cable by Sam Anez

Two fingers down!: Spare parts

Another Dorman junk product. Had to be modified to work. The center of the threaded part is supposed to be hollow for the cable to sit in, but one end was actually solid so I had to drill through it to make it work. And that wasn't the only problem. The cheap plastic clip that is supposed to hold this piece to the throttle worked well until I tried the cruise control for the first time. The cable popped out and I finally modified a pair of steel e-clips to fit the slot. Works NOW as it should. You'd think that after all these years, Dorman would start improving its products, but they still produce crap. It amazes me they're still in business. I have purchased many Dorman items over the years and most either didn't work properly or just didn't fit.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • There are nuances
