Batteries seem to last us a long time. I don't understand why there aren't higher ratings for this bark collar. We've been using it since October 2016. It was perfect for my 11 pound Yorkshire Terrier mix. She wasn't a constant bad barker, but in those moments when someone came up to us or knocked on the door, we really needed something and it was perfect. Now we just dressed as needed and it wasn't long before she linked the collar to the lack of barking. Some reviews have complained that the battery doesn't last long, but our batteries seem to last. We also use this when we go camping to avoid disturbing other campers. EXTREMELY EASY TO USE. **You need to make sure it is NOT too tight and NOT too loose. If it's too loose, it won't pick up the vibration of the dog's vocal cords.**
