Review on Art Alternatives Pastels Earth Tones by Heather Shaw

Very dusty for pastels

I was happy to find these earth tones because we are using earth tones for a lesson that shows the different skin tones of the students in the classroom. These pastels worked well, but they were very dusty and left huge twilight clouds in our classroom. The dust settled on the children's pictures and changed the colors they wanted to use. When I was modeling with pastel on the board, large clouds of dust fell off and painted over my picture where I didn't want it. You can see it in the photo. The photo shows the use of earth tone pastels and crayola pastels (which I prefer). I wouldn't buy them again. You should have something that shows the difference between earthy tones that are dusty and dry and other pastel tones that are solid and thick. I was not thrilled.
