Lightweight and easy to use

Some new cars, like my Mustang, monitor tire pressure and report any low reading on the dashboard display. Last week my car reported that one tire was low and also reported the condition of three others. The tire wasn't flat, just a little lower. I have 2 relatively small air compressors in my garage. But it's so troublesome to take it in the car and fight with the power and air hose, which gets worse when you have to move from tire to tire in the car. Also, my wife often has to inflate the wheels of her bike. Using a hand pump is a bit difficult for them. That's why I ordered this inflator. The overall quality is good. I particularly like the lithium battery. The inflator also comes with a "micro USB cable" option to connect it to the car's cigarette lighter socket if required. First I charged the battery as recommended. I inflated each tire to the recommended level on the sticker on the door frame. I found it good that the inflator showed the existing pressure before filling. For each of the 4 tires the pressure displayed matched exactly what my car displayed on the dashboard. I adjusted the inflation pressure to the desired psi and pulled the trigger. Another nice feature is that you can let go of the switch once the inflator has started. The gas generator stops when it reaches the set pressure. Inflation was fairly quick, only requiring about 5psi per tire. Then I pumped up my wife's bike tires. It's a regular balloon bike that she uses to exercise. However, I didn't want to "inflate" my tires and burden myself with work. I've read what I thought was a good range for these bikes, 25 to 35 psi. The starting value for a tire was just 8 psi. I started pumping up a bit while my wife checked the tire's stiffness based on her riding experience. With these smaller bike tires, inflation is almost instantaneous. I settled on about 26psi but could probably inflate more. 1000% better than hand pumps, especially if you're older than us! I suspect that the main user will be my wife. What an assistant! I decided to order another one for our son as a Christmas present. He is a REAL motorcyclist and I think he would have preferred less manual inflation.

Pros
  • Tires and wheels
Cons
  • Not everything fits
