The card reader is USB2, not USB3.

I wanted to replace my external card reader with this device. Unfortunately, part of the card reader works on USB2. And read speeds are sluggish at best. With a SanDisk Extreme 90 MB/s SD card, the speed was around 18 MB/s. My 5 year old external USB3 card reader used about 80 MB/s. It is only used as a readily available USB hub and eSATA interface. As a card reader, it's not worth it.
