Useful for pedaling
When these petals first came out I thought they were too wide for mountain biking and yes you will hit some rocks. But overall they are great for me and give me some room to move my feet a bit. The spikes hold well and slipping is greatly reduced. I wouldn't be driving without them now. Of course you need shoes that are designed to grip spikes like 5-10.
