Review on Fluval 11081 Medium Gravel Cleaner by Stacey Bradley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great, well thought-out gravel vacuum at a reasonable price!

Excellent gravel cleaner. The quality is high, the price moderate, it works well. Best of all, it comes with Quality of Life features that set it apart from other similar products. Whoever designed this vacuum knew what they were doing because the little features (blow start, bucket clamp, flow control, etc.) really set it apart from other vacuums. If you're considering buying this gravel vacuum, I'd say you really should get one. If you're wondering how this works in different sized tanks, it worked great on my 29th hail, but it worked fine on my 10th too. I believe it will work in most hundred gallon tanks as well, although if you have nano tanks you might want to consider a smaller option. Pros: - High quality (durable materials, thick pipes, etc.) - Drain bucket clamp. The clip keeps the hose in place well, allowing dirt and water to end up in the bucket and not on the floor, making it easier to focus on vacuuming and avoiding accidents.) The lamp starts the siphon quickly and easily .) Relatively small hose for more precise cleaning (bulky, oversized hoses are common, but they make cleaning around plants and decorations more difficult, a small hose gives more control and precision.) - Good suction and flow (it can really move gravel and lift to suck up manure) - Flow Control Switch (I like it. They have such precise suction control that you can be sure you're sucking up what you want, but not what you don't want. I've used it once and am already spoiled.) Cons: - It's quite large and doesn't pack into a small space - The filter has to be removed to clean it and there are a little annoying hints. It has a very strong suction power, so you need to be careful when using it for the first time. on the manual flow control switch is open when you start the siphon (it won't start if it's closed.)

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Hard to say
