These leggings are like butta! Seriously, they're so soft, so comfortable, and while they're not bulky, they don't show through at all. They are high waisted and offer some tummy control but far from compression control. If you're expecting them to hold you tight like pantyhose, you'll be disappointed. Bought them, now two pairs to wear under ripped jeans during the winter months, so cute I have to buy more. I can't wash them on delicates fast enough and hang them to dry, I want to live in them! I wash all my clothes except for delicate jeans and hang the nicer ones out to dry so they don't roll or shrink. I have a full fit and hips and would not wear leggings in public unless my back was completely covered by a tunic. Top or long sweater, but these leggings offer enough support. I know if I wasn't so shy I would even wear them in public to work out etc. I'm talking about the price they should buy should try leggings. I'm almost 57 years old, 5ft 7in and 175lbs, hope this helps.
