
It actually seems to get through the connection without slowing it down. At least as far as I can tell. I didn't buy this to expand my MacBook case (Macbook cases are a bad idea because they take a big problem and make it worse since polycarbonate and other plastics trap the heat that the aluminum case is trying to get rid of). Rather, to ensure I always plug the same cables into the same ports when docking. The reason is that macOS has glitches when using external monitors e.g. B. swapping the ports used and in what order, which can cause your computer to randomly rearrange your monitor settings and desktop items. Sometimes even the second monitor just goes black and unresponsive for some weird, deeper voodoo reason than I can fathom.
