I use these to scoop up fertilizer for the garden so I like the long handle which helps keep my hands away from the chemicals. I use 2 gallon watering cans when fertilizing the flowers in the garden and I have to put 2 tablespoons of fertilizer in each. I got tired of dipping my scoop twice in 1 tablespoon and now I use that instead. It has a flat bottom which also means you can set it down when it's full and the contents don't spill out.
